Front Loading Washer My Frigidaire front loader washer is not spinning when full. It spins ok if only a small amount of clothes are in it. We just replaced the belt, but it didn't help the problem. Should I just buy a new one or is this fixable?

We just had a similar problem with our front loader except ours stopped spinning altogether. We couldn't find anyone who wanted to look at it. My husband had already found the belt was not the problem. One repairman suggested he look at the brushes connected to the motor which turned out to be the problem. Apparently they have a little tail which stretches over time (normal wear and tear). Ours had fully stretched and were no longer making the connection required to spin the drum. My husband replaced the brushes and we're up and running (or should I say spinning!) again.

The drum is spun by the belt and motor, with it spinning with a half load I would say that the belt you got was the wrong size (to big) or the spring loaded self adjusting tenisoner isn't working, motors for the most part either work or they don't but it would be worthwhile to spin it by hand and see if it's freely spining, if it isn't it needs to be replaced.

Question: Samsung Front Loader Not Spinning?

I have a Samsung wf330anw/xaa front loading washer, it will not spin properly. It will turn slowly like it's trying to balance the load one direction, then the other, but will never go into spin cycle.

It does make some loud noises and the rotor will spin then stutter. Eventually the rotor spins, but the tub does not. Any ideas? The door lock works (clicks locked, clicks unlocked).

You may have a worn belt. That's what happened with one of my machines.

Very likely your machine is throwing an error code. Have you checked your manual for troubleshooting instructions? If so & it is not something that you are able to correct on your own, then I'd suggest getting a repair tech out to look at it.

If it's new than likely you are still under warranty.

Check inside the machine and drum area. A lot of times something will get stuck in the drum area. Normally this can be socks or underwear. Check around and turn the drum. Make sure nothing is blocking the drum from turning. Also, watch the machine during the wash cycle. Front load machine turns during the washing cycle.

Check the error codes on the machine and open the back of your machine. Check to see if the belt has slipped off the pulley. If so adjust the belt on the machine and try again. If nothing else works you will need to call your service center for repair. If it is under 12 months old the service on the machine is free.

It appears you are in South Africa.
The Defy front loading washing machines are good machines and if this is a fairly new machine you should call your service center and have them check your machine as a belt slipping or anything else should not be happening to this machine. If you are seeing an error code you can write it down so you can give this information to the service person when you make that call.

Most likely, if you find your original paperwork you will find your machine has a service warranty of 3 years so if it is not that old then call your service center and do not mess with your machine.

Question: Frigidaire Washer Not Spinning Properly?

We have Frigidaire Gallery series stacked washer and dryer. The washer make a loud bang and is making a noise when spinning. Also the clothes are not spinning dry as they normally do. I think this could be a popped spring - however is this all it could be? Any help is appreciated as I usually repair our appliances.

You could have a faulty lid switch, a broken belt or a problem with the motor.

This could be a problem with your control panel and a belt in the washer. If the tub is filling with water and it reached the water level the indicator should trigger the circuit board to start the wash cycle.

You could have a water sensor problem that isn't working to trigger the circuit board to go to the wash cycle.

There could be a problem with the inlet valve or the sensor letting the machine know its full and to start washing.

Question: Front Load Washer Not Spinning?

My LG WM2277HW front load washing machine would not spin after washing. I dissembled the washing machine and replaced the broken iron "spider" behind the tub. After I re-assembled it, it does washing fine, but would not do normal spin. It seems the machine was trying hard and the tub turned for a few rounds, but could not pick up the speed and stopped, and then tried again, still could not pick up the speed and stopped, then finally showed a sign indicating "abnormal stop". Not sure if I messed up some switches during the dissembling and re-assembling.

How old is washer? If it is 10 years, tranny might be going; buy a new one. There should be a tech number for your company, technicians can give you a lot of clues to follow up on.

They've been very helpful to me, when there was still life. But yours might be transmission.

Question: Washer Not Spinning?

3 days ago my Maytag front loader washer stopped and threw a code. So I looked it up and it turned out the drain behind the front panel was clogged. I fixed it. Well now when the washer is done I go to put the clothes in the dryer and they are soaking wet. So I checked the drain again just to make sure and it's clear. The washer is not throwing a code. Any ideas on what the problem is or could be?

You did not provide the washer brand, year model, etc., so difficult to help you. However, you can check the product booklet for possibilities, ask the store where purchased, and also check the manufacturer's website for help-customer service.

Question: Washer Drum Won't Spin?

I have a Frigidaire front load washer and the drum and pulley won't spin. It feels like it's locked but when I apply a little pressure to spin the pulley it becomes unlocked and spins. When I start the washer it locks up again after a few minutes.

Looking for an answer to this question, been on here for two days and the only thing I get is to clean the drain pump. Is there someone out there who really knows the answer to this question?
